India is a country with which I am not very familiar as I have never been to India or interacted much with Indian citizens. The culture of Indian business environment as well as Indian social environment provides insights about the type of communication required to be made in specific situations. Religious sentiments are extremely high and religious issues can be extremely sensitive even if it occurs in the workplace in India (Papi, 2021). Therefore, there must never be any joke cracked about any religion to any employee working in India for a U.S. manager. There has to be respect given to all religions and accommodate for employees belonging to all religions in Indian workplaces. If there is a religious holiday given to an employee belonging to a specific religion in India, there has to be religious holiday given to the other employees belonging to other religions in the country. Otherwise, the U.S. manager will be considered to be to be biased by the Indian employees. There are specific shared values in the Indian culture which the U.S. manager has to become aware of. Some of the shared values are collectivism, individual ethics, social ethics, adherence to law, showing respect for elderly people, joining hands and greeting strangers, doing handshakes with business professionals, etc. (Papi, 2021).
